
Physical Properties
Tiger's-eye, a chatoyant form of quartz with a "cat's-eye" effect caused by fibrus inclusions of crocidolite (asbestos) that have changed into quartz. Tiger's eye is black yet gets its yellow and golden brown colour from iron oxide staining. Hawk's-eye is blue and forms when the blue-grey colour of the crocidolite remains after it changes to quartz. Quartz cat's-eye is not to be confused with cat's-eye, a rare and expensive chrysoberyl gemstone.

It inspires you to be brave, but also helps to soften the obstinate pigheadedness the over-brave can suffer from. Very grounding and balancing, giving clearer perception and insight.
