Physical Properties

Celestite is another name for celestine. It is usually found as milky white, orange, yellow, or pale blue prismatic crystals or in fine grained masses. It is a soft stone with perfect cleavage and as such is extremely fragile. It is found in Namibia, Madagascar, Italy, England, Czech Republic, the USA and Canada.
Chemical composition: Strontium sulphate
Crystal structure: Orthorhombic
Hardness: 3.5
