AZURITE is an azure-blue copper mineral. It is often found in massive form, intergrown with malachite. Crystals occur and are sometimes pseudomorphically replaced by malachite or form together. In history it was ground down and used as azure pigment. This is not recommended as azurite dust is toxic.
