The chakra system was developed in the East. In Sanskrit, the word 'Chakra' means wheel. Chakras are believed to be wheels or vortexes of energy that relate to the seven major centres of the body where vital energy flows through and intersects. When all seven centres are clear and balanced, a person is thought to be able to reach their optimal wellbeing, physically and emotionally.  Crystals and stones relate to the Chakras according to their colour. Placing an appropriate stone on the chakra whilst meditating, energises it, helps to remove blockages, making alignment possible.
